First Take: LA Galaxy 1 : 1 DC United

Ugly game on all parts for United. Truth be told, DC probably deserved to lose this game after a meandering, disheartened second half. United didn't look much better in the first, but at least they weren't giving up long ball chances. Since we've seen what can happen when United's weaponds are firing, or even if only a few are alive, it is somewhat troublesome to see Adu, Moreno, Eskandarian, and Gros all shut down. I think the turning point for LA was deciding to attack Gros, and not Adu, since Josh suddenly found himself getting beat down DC's left flank. Gomez gets a beautiful goal, but even he was subpar the second half.

Full debrief later, but man, what an unfortunate game. Take the draw.

And yet if Jaime's ball goes in instead of off the crossbar.

The lack of energy and urgency against a team that had played three days earlier and was there to be beaten is what's disappointing.

Why is Perkins still starting? He sucks.

Oh please, Perkins doesn't suck (don't the latest stats indicate he's the most winning goalkeeper in MLS right now?) I think he's gaining a lot of confidence and his decision making continues to improve each game. I'm not missing Nicky at all.

The goal looked pretty comical but i didn't see the game so maybe he played well before then.

Looked like he ran right past Cobi and left the net wide open.

Guess Cobi's 40yr old speed surprised him...

"Winningest goalkeeper" is the most pointless stat you could possibly come up with.
