Gonzaga alum to tryout with United?

While we're all waiting for word of signing a stud player from Brazil or Argentina, the WaPo reports today that Gonzaga alum Dana Leary has been invited to tryout with the team. At 6'4"" and 220 ponds, he would definitely add some much needed size to the DC backline if he makes the cut. Given that he'd be a drafted out of college, he'd likely need a season or two to adjust to the professional game, if he choses not to go to law school. We could hope for a Bozilla like rookie season - sans the own goals.

Poster on bigsoccer are wondering why DC United would tip its hand before the Super-Duper draft and if a kid from a Division III soccer program could really cut it.
