The Freezer Week #2

The US Soccer Fragility Index (known as the Freezer) is the opposite of the ubiquitous Power Poll. Instead, each Wednesday, we rank the most feeble, ineffective, and generally cold things in the US Soccer World.

THIS WEEK: Three items are out of the freezer - two because the situations improved enough to no longer be considered weak enough of this elite list, but one of them because we found it completely frozen next to the Porterhouse Steaks we bought over the internet two years ago (hey, it seemed like a great deal at the time!). Is it merely coincidence, but seems like both DCU and Houston are versions of the same tale...

Busy offseason, inspiring wins followed by frsutrating losses in "international" competition, all followed by pathetic starts. Did both teams get too funked out following the Cup losses so they don't show up now in MLS play?

Well, does chivas get points for offloading Guevara, or is that not enough to offset trading for him in the first place?

And what does the deal say about Toronto FC?

Ellinger hits the breaking point this weekend and is fired next week...

Ellinger seems to be made of Teflon. On one level I really, really, really want a win, but on the other hand, one more loss can't be so bad as long as Bruce shows his typical class and runs up the score to 7-0. Maybe THAT will finally turn the table. Why he hasn't just resigned I don't know. Regardless, I'm having way too much fun with the blog, and thanks for the link.

And Ellinger is gone. Jason Kreis has retired and will be replacing him (at least according to the local sports radio folks -- there's a noon press conference to announce the big change)
