Double Negatives

I don't normally write about other leagues, but I would like to acknowledge the efforts this year of Chelsea FC, PSV Eindhoven, and Blackburn Rovers. The world owes you a debt of gratitude. That is all.

Oh, there's a common link between those three.... but I'll leave it to others to see if they know why I might feel that way.

Looks like somebody's not a fan of Frenchmen in London.

To be fair, it isn't the French aspect I object to. It could be a team of American DCU-alums and I'd still have problems with 'em.

COYS.

Sorry, as someone who doesn't follow European soccer that closely, I still am in the dark. Once an appropriate punchline acquisition waiting period has passed, could someone clue me in on the joke?

Anon has pretty much got it correct: These are the three teams that have eliminated Arsenal from Cup competitions.

I'm a Spurs supporter. Arsenal may not have been kind to us this year (or ever) but it's nice to see that the world will take its vengeance in some way.

Thanks Blackburn. Thanks for playing ugly, negative football...and for employing one of the biggest whining, diving, thugs in all of euro futbol - Robbie Savage.
