United Close to Aquiring Fred
According to Goff, United are close to aquiring another Brazilian; Fred. No, not Lyon's Fred, Melbourne's Fred. Fred is an attacking player that usually plays Striker or A-Mid for Melbourne. It seems United plans to play him on the wing. Where have we seen this before?
Fred had 4 assists in the A-League's championship game to help Melbourne to a 6-0 win. He also has some talent as a spokesperson. Much like the Emilo signing, we won't really know what type of player United got until we see him on the field. Actually, DC hasn't even signed him yet, and United isn't even commenting on the player after the breakdown in talks with Ruy ealier this offseason. It seems to me that this might be a good signing if it goes through. I don't know enough at this time, but we definately need someone to fill in at the wing position, so hopefully this guy can be the man to give United some width to their play.

The A-League is very comparable to MLS, that being said if you check out his videos on youtube the guy looks awsome. He's got good speed, a world class touch, and it appears he has the ability to play wide. Just from what I have seen on youtube this guy looks like he could even be more of an asset than Emillio. Something keeps crossing my mind though.... Gomez.... he still hasn't agreed to a contract... Fred is 27... could United be grooming a replacement...? It just seems a bit too coincidental that he has a very similar touch and style to Gomez, is traditionally a CM and we still have gotten no word of a contract extension for Christian..... hhhmmmm. Sorry I'm just thinking out loud, but I think the point is made.
We don't need Fred, bugger him. We got Ljubo, we got Ljubo, we got Ljubo...
P.S. MVFC could grind the best American team into the dust any day of the week.

agreed.
Fred was aruably our best player this year
His influence all over the field was immense and his work ethic was incredible
He can run all day, is able to read the play, and has foot skills that are right up there
If this is true we will miss him at Melbourne
Well well! Looks like we have the makings of a MVFC- DCU friendly!
At any rate, I'd respectfully disagree with our Australian cousins that MVFC would "grind the best American team" (which is indisputably DCU) any day of the week. Defnitely on a Monday, maybe on a Tuesday... Or maybe a really good Wednesday but Saturday and Sunday are ours baby, ours!!
By the way, who is Ljubo?
Viva Fred! Viva United!

huh!! Melbourne Victory have 2 stadiums and an average of 37,500 and we only lost four times in the season !! shove that up yo candy ass
Ljubo Milicevic is is the best player in the world!!!
we are champions say we are champions!
we are champions say we are champions!
we are champions say we are champions!
we are champions say we are champions!
As you can see, many Victory fans arent too happy with one of our favourite sons leaving after just a year but he is some player and will be a great pick-up.
He will be very successful for DC United if they do manage to pick him up, a wonderful talent.
But the deal hasnt gone through yet and we're still hoping he will choose to stay in Australia
