First Impressions - 7/4 DC vs Wizards

Never try to watch a game lying down if you wake up at 7am to walk your dog. I dozed off through a lot of the first half, not because the game was boring. This team is grinding out wins, and these points are going to be very precious in 3 months time. The makeshift back line gave up a lot of chances, which had to be expected, but Troy Perkins came up with big saves again and again to keep a clean sheet. McTavish also hustled to make some last minute blocks and clearances. For a rookie he showed well, now let's hope Vanney and the rest of the coaching staff can tech him a thing or two so that he doesn't find himself in that position. On the other end, Emilio creates a goal out of almost nothing, and is regaining the punishing form we saw in the Champions Cup. There's no doubt about it that this was an ugly win, but I'm glad to take it.

Perkins, Emilio, and several karma points spent. Well done, but let's not do it that way anymore please!

Yeah, we stole that one. Thank you Troy. Now we have to go down to Robertson, which should be another grinder.

Good job beating up on KC. Did you hear that Jim Rome is coming back to DC? You can hear him on WJFK 106.7 1-3PM starting on July 16th.

Jim Rome is back?! Sweet. Now we can listen to soccer bashing from a national show as opposed to the local ones. Great news! Thanks for posting this wonderful info!

If Rome is going to be on 1-3 on WJFK then that means he is taking Bill O'Reilly's time slot. So that really might actually be some good news.

Shatz: You are probably right, but I'm getting tired of every option in this country being the lesser of two evils as opposed to a good one.

Vamos United.

McTavish played off the hook.
Perkins was out of his mind.

That match could have easily been 6-1 against.

Two things I watched on TV yesterday: watching dudes eat 60 hot dogs made me want to hurl and watching Tom Soehn sweat made me want to jump in the pool (run around in the rain, actually).

Will DCU leading the East in points and the league in points per game be enough to get them out of the Freezer, or does the lead have to be substantial first?

As long as they don't lose as badly as NY just lost in Houston, they will be out of freezer next Tuesday.
