The Freezer for 3 July 2007

The US Soccer Fragility Index, known as the Freezer, is the anti-power poll. Each week, Oscar, Kinney, and D have a frank discussion over email to rank the most feeble, the most tenuous, and the overall weakest things in US Soccer. It's the second most feared list in US Soccer behind 101 Ways to Finish Your Chances, by Jay Goppingen.

This week in the Freezer there is quite a bit of movement. Many long frozen teams and indivduals move up the list by virture of worse performances by others. A coach is split off from his team as rumors swirl. Lots of people made it out but we're still keeping an eye on them.

Note: The Freezer is a collaborative effort of the DCenters. Kinney just posted it this week. We all wrote the thing.

ESPN moves /up/? I thought D watched the game! He said how awful they were in the post-game posts!

ESPN can't move up after last week's piss-pooor NBA-draft talking, Landon Donovan call taking performance! D! Tell them, D!

I rememberd D's post and know that they were bad. But were they worse than the US Nats and Gaven? I didn't think so, but I guess we can disagree. I guess maybe they shouldn't have moved up that much. But lots of people/teams sucked it up this week. When soccer fans have a lot to complain about ESPN falls a little by the wayside.

La Volpe's Grandmother is US-National Team quality. I'm not sure she's bad enough to play for Chicago...

La Volpe's Grandmother will only be in Chicago for a week before either Mo Johnson or Lalas trade for her.

Speaking of Alexi (which is better than listening to him speak), what's up with the Jaqua packing his bags note. I can't find details on that move anywhere, and I'm intrigued as to who would be stupid enough to deal for him, since he's sucked so far this season.

Thanks much, too bad DC couldn't get a decent backup like Gray

I heard some analysis of Jaqua's move from LAG and agreed with it - he's a target in the box and you would figure he'd be good to have around once Becks shows up.

He always scared me as a DCU opponent and intrigued me as a USMNT player.
