Come play for me Argentina

From MLSNet's wrap-up of the transfer window:

The club has also signed a foreign player whose name will be released at a later date, once he receives approval of his work visa.

From the Washington Post (Steve Goff):

sources... said he is an attacking player in his mid-20's who has played in Latin America and overseas...It will take some time before the new player will be able to join the club because of visa issues, said one source, who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the negotiations.
Other news? In short, Jamil Walker gets a well-earned promotion from the developmental to senior roster. David Stokes is on season ending injured reserve, which is no surprise. A high point high school alum is given Jamil's spot on the developmental roster, making Calverton, Maryland very proud.

As a quick note, Goff also discusses Eskandarian beginning light workouts. Let's establish a simple fact: Alecko is not coming back this year. Nor should he. Let him take the time he needs to heal, rather than rush to make it back for the finals. I believe that DCU has enough class that they'll keep his space warm for next year.

Interesting, no?

Could you imagine D.C. with a starting lineup for Jaime and Freduardo with Jamil Walker and Esky on the bench?

That's a quandry of Chelsean proportions.

Wouldn't that be great though? Toss in Tino, and we're getting ridiculous :) Makes we wish we could do the line-shift substitution as well...

Is Tino mostly a forward for you guys? Perhaps we'll see him out wide more since that's where Bruce keeps putting him.

Tino's been playing up top the last few games, typically on the other side from Moreno. Which means from CAM on up its getting crowded on the roster.

Seriously, you guys are going to have to look to trade someone. That said, let's look at this:

Jaime - Getting older but the's the Captain, it's hard to trade him. And he's in the running for Golden Boot. Though, if you're going to trade him, now's the time to do it.

Freduardo - Ahahahahahahahahahaha.

Walker - Might be worth trading now that the getting is good. His value won't be much higher until he can play every game though it would be tough to lose his late-game speed.

Tino - It would make a lot of sense to put Gros on the left and Tino on the right but there's not enough evidence he can be a full-time starter. Though you will lose Freddy in two years ... it might be wise to hold on to Tino until then.

Alecko - N/A until next year.
